ROLANDE "ANN" RITA STERLING, age 94, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2015 at 1:00 a.m. at the Court House Manor Nursing Home.
She was born on November 15, 1920 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island to the late Phillipe and Eva Laferriere Bourget. She moved to Ohio in 1953 from Florida. She had worked for various employers in Washington CH including Montgomery Wards, Sagars Dairy Stores, Ross Dairy Barn, Steens Dry Goods, Fayette County Children's Home, Jack's Manufacturing and other places of business. She retired from Wincup in 2003 after 32 years of service. She volunteered as a Gray Lady at the Chillicothe VA Hospital and more recently was a devoted volunteer at the Fayette County Memorial Hospital and made many friends there. She enjoyed playing Bingo.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jean (Howard E.) Smith of Washington CH; grandchildren LuAnn Bernard of Virginia, Michael E. (Ranee Vititoe) Smith of Washington CH, Kelly (Susan) Smith of Washington CH and Mark A. Smith of Colorado; great-grandchildren Jill (Jeff) Auty of Virginia, Brad (Rebecca) Donnerstag of Tennessee, Sarah E. Smith (Tony Wood) of WCH, Amanda J. Smith of WCH, Jennifer (Alex) Castilon of Tennessee, and Nicholas Smith of WCH; great-great-grandchildren Jayce, Jayden, Isaiah, Ian, Madison, Jaxtyn and Sterling; special friend, Mary Smith and Ann's pet rabbit, Peter.
Ann was a member of the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church and also attended St. Benignus Catholic Church in Greenfield. She also enjoyed attending services at Crossroads Church in Washington CH.
The Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church with Rev. Father Michael Hartge officiating withburial to follow at the White Oak Grove Cemetery. Per Ann's request, there will be no viewing.
