RONNIE LEE JENKINS, age 76, of Bloomingburg, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on September 14, 1947 in Greenfield to the late Frank and Effie (Deaton) Jenkins. He attended Greenfield McClain School. Ronnie was a member of the American Legion Post 25 and WCH VFW. He served active duty in Vietnam for the United States Army and also served in the United States Air Force. He was very proud of his military experience.
Ronnie retired from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections where he was well respected and valued.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping along with spending time with his friends and family.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his grandson, Deacon; Fur babies, Josie, Mack, Spanky, Megan Annie, and Baby; siblings, Bud (Renee), and Diane; brothers-in-law, Frank, Bob, Bill, and Jim; and his father and mother-in-law, Luther and Betty.
Survivors include his loving wife Ruth whom he married on March 10, 1989; Fur babies, Sally, and Sadie; children, Randy (Lori), Rick (Cheryl), Debi, Justin (Mandy), Brady (Nicki), and Sasha; grandchildren, Kristen (Rob), Emmy (Levi), Tyler, Adrienna, Trey, Dante (Hailie), Kaden, Dawson, Easton, and Alyssa; great grandchildren, Ava and Elle; siblings, Vernon (Molly), MaryLynn (Randy) and Norma Jean; brother-in-law, Jack (Koneta); and sisters-in-law, Donna, and Kay (Dave). Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of special friends.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Bloomingburg Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to your local Hospice.
