ROSALYN KATHLEEN 'KATIE' HISEY, age 85, of South Solon, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Springfield Regional Medical Center.
She was born on January 13, 1930 in Madison County to Joe and Blanche Jordan Taylor. She was a 1948 graduate of South Solon High School. Katie had worked as a treasurer of the Madison Plains School District and also a treasurer of the Village of South Solon. She was a member of the Grace Community Church where she had served as missionary president, Sunday School teacher and musician. She enjoyed traveling, jigsaw puzzles, cooking and baking but especially loved spending time with her family.
Katie was preceded in death by her parents, sister Phyllis Taylor, her husband, Harold 'Pete' Hisey, her daughter, Pamela Jo Reynolds, brothers-in-law Fred Spears, Marion Stockwell and Bob Greer.
Survivors include her children Vicky (Bob) Adkins and Randy Hisey; grandchildren Brad (Doreen) Reynolds, Krista (Rodney) Clutter, Nathan (Kristin) Adkins, Aaron (Christie) Adkins and Jon (Amy) Adkins; Eleven great-grandchildren; son-in-law Wayne Reynolds; siblings Janice Spears, Shirley Stockwell and Maxine Greer; sister-in-law Mary Pitstick as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of family and church friends.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Community Church with Pastor Bruce Sigman officiating with burial to follow at the South Solon Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 2-8 p.m. and again on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
