ROSE MARY ROSS, age 74, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at her home.

She was born on December 18, 1951 in Hillsboro, Ohio to the late McClellan Harley and Marie Bee (Wright) Shaffer. Rose was a homemaker and stay-at-home mother. She cleaned houses and worked for a local crafting shop for a short time. She enjoyed fishing, cooking and baking, spending time with her grandchildren, she loved butterflies and hummingbirds, and her family said she definitely had a “green thumb” when it came to raising her plants.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl L. “Buddy” Ross; son-in-law, William Campbell; and brothers, Richard, John, and Robert Shaffer.

Survivors include her children, James Mayfield and his fiancé, Miranda Eggleton, and Tammy Campbell; grandchildren, Ashley (Patrick) Ramey, Amber (Marshall) McCullough, Karlee Mayfield and her fiancé, Damian Streitenberger, Brandon (Lyndsay) Campbell, Landen Mayfield, Nathan Mayfield, and Brandon Wise; great-grandchildren, Kenzleigh, Julian, Liam, Scarlett, Ella, Connor, Braelynn, Kylen, and Parker; siblings, Betty Groves, Margaret Aber, Mary Groves, Shirley Trisdale, Gary Shaffer, Angie Skaggs, and Danny Shaffer; and her best friend, Janet Everman. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
