RUSSELL SHERMAN ALLTOP, age 78, of Sahuarita, Arizona, formerly of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at his home.

He was born on November 3, 1941 in Fayette County to Lloyd and Berdina Stosenberg Alltop. Russell was a self-employed contractor in Fayette County for many years. After his retirement in 2008, he and his wife, Suzanne, decided to relocate and make Arizona their home. Russell had been a member of the Tucson Pigeon Club and had received multiple awards for his birds; he also volunteered his time at The White Elephant Thrift Store in Green Valley, Arizona. He enjoyed watching old western movies and loved animals.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Bobby Wayne Alltop.

Survivors include his loving wife, Suzanne Wilson Alltop, whom he married on June 30, 1960; son, Jeff Alltop; grandson, Dr. Jeremy Alltop, DVM; and his brother, Kenneth Alltop. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Washington Cemetery with Trevor Patton officiating. The graveside service will be streamed live on Facebook. Please see the official Facebook page of Summers Funeral Home.
