RUTH LOUISE STRITENBERGER, age 94, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 6:30 a.m. at the Mt. Carmel Medical Center. She was born on August 10, 1920 in Jeffersonville to Cameron and Nora Duncan Shiltz. She was a Bloomingburg High School graduate. She had attended the Washington Avenue House of Prayer. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her children and reading her Bible. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her son Terry Stritenberger, grandson Jeff Rinehart, son-in-law Terry Newman, siblings Lou, Howard, Harold and Ray Shiltz, Helen Evans and Virginia Lanter, sister-in-law Betty Shiltz and brother-in-law, Dwayne Roush. Survivors include her husband, Orville Stritenberger, whom she married on May 29, 1942; her children Donald (Linda) Stritenberger and Ruth Ann Newman; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; siblings Carl (Opal) Shiltz, Dorothy Dean and Georgia Roush; sisters-in-law Cathy Shiltz and Ada Shiltz as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Butcher and Rev.
