SAMUEL H. "SAM" WASSON, age 87, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 6:10 a.m. at Signature HealthCare of Fayette County.

He was born on August 9, 1934 in Chillicothe, Ohio to Norva O. and Essie M. (Russell) Wasson. Sam worked in construction for most of his life and was also a skilled carpenter. He enjoyed coloring, feeding his birds, and spending time with his beloved family.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie Jean (Lightle) Wasson; daughter, Cindy Ann Wasson Whaley; and siblings, Placie B. Weibley and Norva O. Wasson, Jr.

Survivors include his grandchildren, David J. Whaley and Heather D. Yoakum; great-grandchildren, Selena, Devvinn, Emeree, and Randallynn; and special niece, Cindy Stroup.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Conley officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
