SANDRA LEE DOWNARD, age 72, of Bloomingburg, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at her home. She was born on July 8, 1942 in Fayette County to Loren "Orky" and Ruth Ann Irvin Wharton. She was a Washington High School graduate. She had worked at J&J Restaurant for many years, Sugar Creek Packing Company and the Record Herald Circulation Department. She had been the Director of the Paint Valley Campfire Girls. She enjoyed talking on the phone, computer games and her pets, Gracie and Layla. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, sister Brenda O'Cull and niece, Jodi O'Cull. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth "Ken" Downard, whom she married on February 10, 1968; her children Pam Enderle, Ronda (Wayne) Turner and Todd (Bill Swick) Downard; grandchildren Brandy Gleason, Ty Hodge and Ashley Swiger; great-grandchildren Kennedy, Brandyn and Xavier; her brother, Frank (Sheila) Wharton; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery.
