SHANNON DAWN LEMMINGS, age 62, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on June 24, 1963 in Washington CH. Her parents are Oleta Lou (Hilliard) and Larry Milstead. She was a 1981 graduate of Washington High School. Shannon retired from the McKesson Corporation where she worked in pharmaceutical distribution. She was a faithful member at the Crossroads Christian Church where she served as a greeter, and she also volunteered at the Hands of Christ Ministry. She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s activities and sporting events.
Shannon was preceded in death by her father, Jack Evans.
Survivors include her mother and step-father, Oleta (Larry) Milstead; her loving and devoted husband, James Ottis Lemmings; her beloved children, Rick (Michelle) Melvin, Chris (Ashley) Melvin, and Jennifer (Adam) Sharpe; grandchildren, Kate Melvin, Ben Melvin, Casey Melvin, Kailyn Renee Woods, Nicole Melvin, Aubree Shae Whitt, Isaiah Tristan Woods, Amberlee Melvin, and Charlie Sharpe; great-grandson, Malachi Jarnigan; sisters, Susie (Willie) Hatfield, and Stacy (Tracy) Noel; and step-brother, Andy (Misty) Milstead. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. at the Fayette Bible Church, 1315 Dayton Ave., Washington CH, OH 43160. Family and friends may visit at the church on Monday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
