SHERRY ANN COX, age 60, of Washington CH, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at her home. She was born on April 12, 1954 in Fayette County to Frank Sr. and Virginia Sheridan Merritt. She was a 1972 Miami Trace High School graduate. She had operated her own day care and had been a foster parent for many years. She also had worked on the pipelines in Oklahoma. She enjoyed bingo, she was known for her "select" dishes, reading, crossword puzzles and fishing. She adored her children and her foster children. Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, brother Denny Merritt and sister Rita Merritt. Survivors include children Denny Dean, Lindsey Cox, Andie Cox and adoptive children Mary Ingram, Whitney Pryor and Ruby Singh; grandchildren Autum, Bayle, Tessa and Brayden; great-grandchild Peyton; siblings Michael (Jennifer) Merritt, Terry Merritt, Frankie Jr. (Evelyn) Merritt, Wendy Merritt, Steve (Sheri) Merritt, Marjorie (Rick) Sheridan as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and all of her foster children and friends. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery.
