SHERYL K. ALDRIDGE, age 69, of Washington Court House, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Ohio State East in Columbus. Born on May 7, 1956, in Fayette County, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Ann Smith Woods. On May 8, 1991, she married her husband of thirty-four years, James C. Aldridge, who survives.
Sheryl was a 1974 graduate of Miami Trace High School and worked as an in-home Child Care Provider for many years. Before that, she worked as an Office Manager for Senior Living including the Hattie Jackson Commons here in Washington C.H. Shery was a member of Unity Fellowship Church, she enjoyed reading, working Sudoku puzzles, playing cards and listening to gospel music. Most of all, Sheryl enjoyed being with her family and will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
In addition to her loving husband, James, survivors include her children, Jodi (Brad) Flax, Joshua Flax, all of Washington C.H. and Jason (Wendy) Flax of Greenfield; her grandchildren, Makaila Flax, Hayden Flax, Blayke (Noah) Wise, Haylee (Jason) Roberts, Jacob (Molly) Barton, and Kylee (Kenny) Swope and several great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Randy (Debbie) Woods, Melody (Doc) Hunter, James Woods and Cindy (James) Hart and her brother-in-law, Mike Dougherty, special friend, Jennifer Curtis, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Along with her parents, Sheryl was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Dougherty.
In keeping with the family's wishes, cremation will take place, and a Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Summers Funeral Home.
