SHIRLEY KATHLEEN RHOADS, age 73, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 5:05 a.m. at the St. Catherine's Manor. She was born on November 29, 1940 in Jackson, Ohio to the late Everett and Madelean McMillan Sharon. She was a member of the New Martinsburg Community Church where she and her husband served in the pastorate for more than 27 years. She enjoyed writing poems, flowers, crafting and going to church. Survivors include her husband, Clifford Rhoads Jr., whom she married on July 24, 1957; her son Clifford (Candie) Rhoads II; grandchildren Dustin (Tiffany) Rhoads and Britny Helsel; great-grandchildren Will Helsel and Kyler Rhoads; brothers Jimmy (Dorothy) Sharon and Kenny (Shirley) Sharon as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Unity Fellowship Church, 4405 Prairie Rd., Washington CH, with Jason Yoakum officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 4-8 and again on Saturday from noon until the time of the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Summers Funeral Home.
