STEPHEN DOUGLAS "DOUG" MATSON, age 67, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at his home with his beloved family by his side.

He was born in Washington CH to the late David and Mary (Kingery) Matson. He was a graduate of Washington High School. Doug worked for the City of Washington for twenty-four years and retired in 2014. He enjoyed woodworking, rebuilding golf carts, spending time with his grandchildren, and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.

In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his brothers, Greg Matson, Jeff Matson, and David Matson.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Marcia Ann (Rowland) Matson, whom he married on December 8, 1984; sons, Quenten (Katelyn) Matson, and Joe (Britany) Matson; his most precious grandchildren, Luke, Lily, Corbin, Lukas, Jericho, and Kayden; nieces and nephews, Chad (Kesha), Colt, Chase, Ry, Andrea "Andy", Kayci, Lindsey, Nikki, Aaron, Ben, Andrea, and Andre; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Randy) East, Linda Hyer, Stacy (Terry) Burns, and Sally (Ben) Rowland; brother-in-law, Danny (Sheila) Rowland; and special friends, JJ Denen, Jimmy Heath, Danny Vance, Becky Vance, and Lewis Anders.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Lewis Anders officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
