TALEA SMITH, age 56, of Wilmington, passed away at 9:25 p.m. at her home on Saturday, February 15, 2014. She was born on November 4, 1957 in Franklin, Ohio to Russell and Phillis Brown Harter. She is a graduate of Southern State Community College and was retired from K-Mart where she worked in customer service. She was a former member of the Brown St. Church of Christ and attended the New Beginning Apostolic Church in Reeseville. She was a very active member of the Ohio POW-WOW Community. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Talea was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bobiejo Harter, sisters Sheilan Russel and Inale "Pete" McRobie and father-in-law, James Smith. Survivors include her husband Micheal Smith Sr., whom she married on November 16, 1975; her children Micheal Jr. (Hollie) Smith of Wilmington, Philip Smith of Marysville, Zanette Smith and fiancé Elifas Roblero and Bobbie Smith and fiance Donaldo Lopez all of Wilmington; grandchildren Malea Jo Smith, Hannah Smith-Reyes, Isaac Smith Lopez, Iziaih Tyree, Catherine and Montgomery Knoublauch; sisters Melodie (Randy) Maag, Elizabeth (Henry) Adkins, Debbie Marker and Kimberly (Donnie) Hubble as well as several nieces, nephews, adopted children and grandchildren as well as special friends Cheryl Card and Phillip "Blue Dog" Rumsey. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Lee officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery.
