Obituary

TEX LEE SHADLEY, age 51, entered into his eternal home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the Adena Fayette Medical Center after a short battle with bile duct cancer.

He was born on April 20, 1974 in Washington CH to Fred and Julia (Whiteside) Shadley. He lived his whole life in Fayette County. Tex grew up in Bookwalter, Ohio and graduated from Miami Trace High School in 1992. During his high school years, he was a member of the ROTC and then attended Circleville Bible College to pursue his dream career of being a Pastor. He was the youth leader at the Bookwalter Church of Christ in Christian Union in his younger years and was also a part of the mission team who served in Honduras.

Tex was an active member and team leader, as well as a State Representative of the Ross County Kairos Prison Ministry. In his later years, he would begin to preach at several churches around Fayette County. He became the Minister at the Maple Grove Church in Washington CH on September 28, 2024. He loved his little country church and was so proud of it! He longed to be able to grow his church family.

Tex was also a bus driver for several years for the Miami Trace School District; he took great pride in this position. He would dress up for the holidays to make the children laugh. Even the high school kids loved him. They would talk about how he would always play KLOVE Christian music on the bus radio.

He had a special love for the Miami Trace Football team and was still actively contributing to the team with food and drinks when he could. Tex was known for his love for Christmas and children. He would dress up as Santa Clause at different parties, functions, and events, and would even walk by the Court House in town just to wave at the kids as they would get so excited to see Santa in the middle of town.

All of his life, he was a Cincinnati Bengals and Ohio State Buckeye football fan. Tex was as old soul. Still to this day, he would watch the old shows that he grew up watching including Andy Griffith and Little House on the Prairie. The world may have been changing around him, but Tex did not change with it. He kept his love for Christ and his faith was so strong.

Tex was a son, brother, uncle, father, and friend. His son, Christian, was his pride and joy. He was a wonderful father! Tex was a loving brother to his sister and would spoil her at any and every opportunity he could. Tex was a strong prayer warrior. He would ask everyone on social media about different prayer requests and he would write them down and actually say a special prayer for each of them. He was someone that you could see Jesus in.

Tex will be joining in Heaven, his mother, Julia Faye Shadley; brother, John Fred Shadley; grandmother, Virginia Whiteside; aunt, Mildred "Peanut" Whiteside; and uncle, Tom Whiteside.

Tex leaves behind his son, Christian Shadley; father, Fred Shadley; sister, Annette Shadley Sizemore; niece, Madaysia Sizemore; best friend, Josh Young; and special friend, Tracy Hughes. Also surviving are several cousins and a host friends.
