THELMA JANE LYONS, age 80, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 8:31 p.m. at Mt. Carmel West.

She was born on January 18, 1938 in Fayette County to John E. and Lucille K. Gilmore Thomas. Thelma worked at home to take care of her husband and five children. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, fishing, and being with her family and grandchildren.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William E. Lyons, whom she married on September 27, 1954, and her grandson, Eric Lyons.

Survivors include her children, William E. (Susie) Lyons Jr., Charles Michael (Tina) Lyons, Sheri Dale (Randy) Ater, Max Stephen Lyons, and Lisa Kay (Rusty) East; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Rosie Yarger, Ronnie (Sue) Thomas, Debbie (Sam) Valentine, Pete Thomas, and Lou Ann (Mike) McLees. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The graveside service will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Washington Cemetery with Danny Dodds officiating. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.
