Obituary

THURMAN JOSEPH "JOE" SEYFANG, age 90, of Washington CH, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 3:32 p.m. at his son's home in Jamestown.

He was born on November 21, 1931 in Fayette County to Frank and Martha (Coulter) Seyfang. Joe proudly served in The Army National Guard of Ohio. He had worked at the Coffman Staircase Company, Willis Lumber, and Bel Dor-Lite, Inc. Joe was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed mowing his lawn on his John Deere, bird watching, riding his motorcycle, traveling to the Smokey Mountains, listening to gospel music, and always treasured time with his beloved family.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; daughter and son-in-law, Martha Alice (Eddie) Fitch; grandchildren, Joe, Asher, and Candy Fitch; and siblings, Frank Leroy Seyfang, Walter Seyfang, Mary Alice Smith, and Archie "Wayne" Seyfang.

Survivors include his wife, Frances M. "Susie" (Baughn) Seyfang, whom he married on June 6, 1951; children, Mary Helen (Tom) Entrekin, Rick J. (Margo) Seyfang, and Michael R. (Ricky) Seyfang; grandchildren, Joseph L. (Malory) Entrekin, Andrew L. (Kathy) Entrekin, Savannah J. (Sam) Merkle, Kathryn S. (Chris) Sopher, Chrissie Shuler, Matthew (Mendi) Talkington, Heather (Aaron) Drake, Rae M. Seyfang, Wesley C. (Elizabeth) Seyfang, and Katie L. Seyfang; great-grandchildren, Nathanial, Makayla, Alexia, Heyden, Haylee, Tylor, Noah, Wyatt, Grant, Ellison, Tripp, Stetson, and Hudson; great-great-grandson, Keiden; and siblings, Bill (Juanita) Seyfang, and Floyd Seyfang. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at The Gathering Place Church, 240 Courthouse Pkwy, Washington CH, OH 43160, with Pastor John Pfeifer officiating with burial to follow at the Sugar Creek Methodist Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the church on Monday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
