IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Timothy Duane
Huffman
March 16, 1957 – November 25, 2023
REV. TIMOTHY DUANE HUFFMAN, age 66, of Washington CH, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 25, 2023.
2nd Timothy 4:7, I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
He was born on March 16, 1957 in Hillsboro, Ohio to the late Virgil Glenn and Dora Belle (Wilson) Huffman of Elmville, Ohio in Highland County.
In addition to his parents, Timothy was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Huffman and mother-in-law, Frances M. Sokola.
Survivors include his siblings, Roger (Arlene) Huffman, Dean (Sharon) Huffman, Rev. Tom (Geralene) Huffman, Janet Tensing, Donna (Bob) Tira, Linda Howard, and Treasha (Ken) Armstrong. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of many lifelong friends including Doug, Beth, Jeffrey, Hayden, and Ramsey Lockard.
Timothy is survived by his wife, Sharon Annette (Sokola) Huffman and they were united in marriage on June 21, 1980. They were blessed with two daughters, Emily Lash, and Bethany (Andy) Sisinger; grandchildren, Landen, Addyson, Alivia, and Jacob; and father-in-law, Rev. Steve Sokola.
He was a 1975 graduate of Peebles High School. He pastored Smith Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union. It was there he felt the Lord leading him to attend the former Circleville Bible College; he graduated with a bachelor's degree in ministry in 1988.
While living in Circleville, he was the associate pastor at Circleville First Church of Christ in Christian Union. While still in college, he pastored at Adelphi Community Church. Upon graduation, he pastored at Lockbourne Church of Christ in Christian Union and at Reese Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union.
His father-in-law, Steve Sokola, taught him the skill of dry walling. He joined Union 1275 and retired after twenty-five years.
In his earlier days, he sang with the Gospel Lighthouse Quartet. He loved to sing, play guitar and his fender bass. Timothy loved to preach and teach. He had a special way of touching people's lives that will never be forgotten.
Timothy also loved to fish and hunt and just sit in the stillness of God's beautiful creation. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and "his buddies." He brought a few prized game home from time to time.
"What we once enjoyed and deeply loved, we can never lose. For all that we love deeply becomes part of our precious memories."
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Heritage Church, 1867 Old US 35 NW, Washington CH, OH 43160, with Rev. Jon Black officiating. Family and friends may visit at the Church on Thursday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
