VIOLA BELLE BUTCHER, age 90, of Bloomingburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 10:53 a.m. at Court House Manor.

She was born on January 22, 1928 in Clinton County to Elbert and Bertha Constant Sanderson. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School. Viola worked at home to take care of her husband and three sons. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Viola was a long time member at the Christ Victory Church in Bloomingburg. She enjoyed going to church revivals, and being with her family and friends.

Viola was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Isaac Butcher, whom she married on March 15, 1947; son, Larry Eugene Butcher; grandson, Trent Edward Butcher; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Butcher; and siblings, Robert Lee Sanderson, Arnold Dale Sanderson, Donald Eugene Sanderson, Ernest Constant, and Patricia (Paul) Wall.

Survivors include her children, Terry Lee (Bonnie Sue Fenneken) Butcher, and Steven Thomas Butcher; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Shirley (Edward) Featherly, and Carl LeRoy (Kiyo) Sanderson. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The family also wishes to thank the staff at Court House Manor, Fayette County Hospice, and Dr. Dale Reno for all of the kindness, caring, and support they offered during this difficult time.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Christ Victory Church, 26 Bowers St., Bloomingburg, OH 43106, with Rev. Creed Thomas officiating with burial to follow at the Bloomingburg Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church on Thursday evening from 6-8:00 p.m.
