VIRGINIA LEE "GINNY" SHARP, age 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at her home.

She was born on July 29, 1952 in Fayette County to the late Maurice, Jr. and Lottie (Morris) Caldwell Williamson. She was a 1971 graduate of Madison Plains High School. Ginny owned and operated "Grooming by Ginny." She had a genuine love for every animal that came through her doors. Ginny was a faithful member at The Gathering Place Church. She enjoyed vacationing with her sisters in Florida and North Carolina, relaxing by the water, and playing shuffleboard.

In addition to her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by her stepfather, Calvin Williamson; sister, Mary Lou Stroup; niece, Kimberly Stroup; and nephew, Rocky Stroup.

Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, Jerry Lee Sharp, whom she married on May 4, 1979; her sons, Jeremy (Abby) Sharp, and Chris (Chrystal) Sharp; grandchildren, Calvin (Caitlyn Jacobs) Sharp, Savannah Fulk, and Meleena Sorrell; three great-grandchildren; and siblings, Linda Smith, Ludene (Jimmy Lee) Manson, Leonard "Bud" (Susie) Williamson, and Charlene (Bob) Wolfe. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor John Pfeifer officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In keeping with Ginny's wishes, cremation will follow, and burial will be held at Good Hope Cemetery at a later date.
