VIRGINIA E. "JENNY" DEAKYNE, age 88, of Fort Pierce, Florida formerly of Washington CH, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Consulate Health Care of Vero Beach, Florida.

She was born on April 15, 1933 in Ross County, Ohio to James and Ada (Morris) Posey.

She attended Heritage Memorial Church in Washington CH until her health declined. She enjoyed word search puzzles, crocheting, embroidering, and had a passion for nature.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Charles E. Deakyne, whom she married on January 31, 1953; and siblings, Betty J. Willett, and Clifford Posey.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Janet J. (Lonnie) Hunt of Fort Pierce, Florida; granddaughter, Amy (Andy) Williams; great-grandchildren, Cain and Callie Sever of Washington CH, Ohio; and siblings, Mary Petitt, Ben Posey, Don (Sharon) Posey, and Joe (Marty) Posey. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The family would like to thank her granddaughter, Amy, Dr. Mark Hodges, special friends, Sue Anders and Jackie Craven, St. Catherine's Manor of Washington CH, and Consulate Health Care of Vero Beach, Florida.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Joy Stanforth officiating with burial of cremains to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

The family has requested that everyone in attendance please wear a mask or other facial covering.
