WENDELL BOYD CRABTREE, age 81, of New Holland, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. at St. Catherine's Manor of Washington CH.

He was born on November 3, 1940 in Clarksburg, Ohio to the late Clyde and Kathryn (Reisinger) Crabtree. Wendell spent his entire life working on the farm. After retirement, he enjoyed tinkering in his barn, gardening, recycling, and spending time with his family and friends.

He had been a resident at St. Catherine's Manor for the past two years; and even through sickness, he made the best of each day. Wendell was always happy to see everyone and was never at a loss for words. He will be sadly missed by many.

In addition to his parents, Wendell was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Crabtree; son-in-law, Jerry Grooms; and siblings, Ralph Crabtree, David Crabtree, and Barbara Busch.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Ruth (Johnson) Crabtree; his children, Linda Grooms, Becky Crabtree, and Michael Crabtree; grandchildren, Scott Dailey, Kory Walters, and Kari (Cholby) Jones; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Kyndall, Konley, and Kaylin Jones; sister, Deborah (Ray) Keiser; and son-in-law, Mike Walters. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Frankfort with Pastor Dan Bennett officiating.
