Obituary

WILLIAM ALLEN "BILL" DEARTH, age 81, of Washington CH, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 7:22 p.m. at his home.

He was born on September 3, 1939 in Staunton, Ohio to Allie and Cora (Sword) Dearth. He proudly served his country in the Ohio Army National Guard. Bill owned and operated two businesses in the local area during his lifetime, Bill's Backhoe Service and Buck Run Archery; he also worked for Town & Country and did construction for Jess Gilmore. He was a former member at the Gregg Street Church of Christ in Christian Union and was active in their bus ministry for twelve years prior to making the move to Heritage Memorial Church; he was a faithful member at the Harvest Life Worship Center and had served as a board member and elder. Bill was known for his "pinches" and his giving heart. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to auctions and flea-markets, riding his horses, and most importantly being with his family and grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Mary Brien, Dora Barber, Gene Dearth, James Dearth, Herbert Dearth, Jane Tillis, Barbara Rowe, Betty Lykins, Helen Leach, Lulabelle Patton, and Martha Gartin.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Betty Lou Brown Dearth, whom he married on August 25, 1961; children, Tammy (John) Ogden, Tonda Dearth, and Toni (Terry) Copas; grandchildren, Rachael (Adam) Allen, Daniel (Bethany) Ogden, Tangi (Dave) Smith, Dustin Redding, Tisa (Stefan) Shields, Tawny Copas, and Tera Copas; great-grandchildren, Emily, Gabriel, Gavin, Grayson, Abby, Alivia, Graham, and Adalynn; and siblings, Mildred Whitt, Karen (Herman) Rayburn, Gary (Dixie) Dearth, Kathi (Virgil) Jones, and Home (Annie) Dearth. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear and special friends.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Church, 1867 US Highway 35 NW, Washington CH, OH 43160, with Pastor Chris Conley officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the church on Wednesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Those in attendance must wear facial coverings and are asked to adhere to social-distancing recommendations.
