WILLIE C. CHAPMAN, age 82, of Washington CH, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 10:09 a.m. at the Fayette County Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. He was born on September 8, 1932 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Hosea and Dixie Lee Chapman. Growing up, he enjoyed participating in athletics, specifically track and field, and he won many awards for his accomplishments as an athlete. As a young adult, he even became involved in boxing. Willie is survived by his sister, Elouia Howard of Lisbon, Ohio, his long time friend, Roy Yarger, and extended family and friends as well as his caregivers. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
