Augustus Herman Rayburn, Sr.

AUGUSTUS HERMAN RAYBURN, SR., age 83, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.

He was born on October 16, 1941 in Champagne County, Ohio to the late Wilbur Herman and Olive Jean (Speakman) Rayburn. Herman was a skilled carpenter by trade, a farmer, and also did factory work for LSI Industries in Blue Ash, Ohio. He loved animals, hunting, fishing, and camping, spending time with his family, and he always took special care of his wife, Karen.

In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by his siblings, Hazel Kathrine Rayburn, and Harley Lee (Carol) Rayburn.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Karen Sue (Dearth) Rayburn, whom he married on August 4, 1961; his children, Stephanie (Lester) Manns, Kim Penwell, Augustus Herman, Jr. (Toni) Rayburn, and Kelly (Michael) Baldwin; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Elizabeth Poling, Thelma (Gene) Hyer, Lowell (James) Rayburn, Gene (Jeannie) Rayburn, and June (Roy) Kilbarger; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Virgil (Kathi) Jones, Gary (Dixie) Dearth, Betty Dearth, and Mildred Whitt. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
