BETTY LOU REEVES, age 78, of Washington CH, went to be with her Lord on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 9:50 a.m. at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.
She was born on September 19, 1943 in Kentucky to John and Dora (Stepp) Rayburn. She was a 1961 graduate of Pueblo High School in Tucson, Arizona and later took classes at Southern State Community College. Betty and her husband, Don, owned and operated Reeves Carpet from 1974-1992; she then volunteered at Madison Mills Elementary School as their Librarian. She attended Heritage Church for many years. Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, reading and being with her family.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Donald Lee Reeves, Jr.; and siblings, Bernice Carroll, Jack Rayburn, Merle Rayburn, and Joann Rife.
Survivors include the love of her life, Donald Lee Reeves, Sr., whom she married on July 7, 1961; children, Joseph L. (Leslie) Reeves, and Steven L. (Stacy) Reeves; grandchildren, Charles A. Reeves, Samantha L. Reeves, Thomas “Cole” Reeves, Alyssa J. Reeves, Lauren E. Taylor, Tyara D. (Zack) Pearson, Nathaniel P. Reeves, Ashley N. (Matthew) Ooten, Adam T. Chenoweth, and Amber L. Chenoweth; great-grandchildren, Charles Jr., Kaden, Chandler, Kai, Natalie, Berry, Carley, and Thurlen; and her two beloved Yorkies Izzy and Lizzy. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear and special friends.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Duvall officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5-7:00 p.m.
