Beverly Lee Smith

BEVERLY LEE SMITH, age 85, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at her daughter’s home.

She was born on June 24, 1938 in Highland County to the late Glen Hollis and Garnet (Wilson) Cokonougher. She attended Greenfield McClain High School. Beverly retired from First Federal Savings and Loan in Washington CH where she had worked as the escrow maintenance clerk. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, shopping, planting flowers, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Smith, whom she married on April 23, 1955, and her sister, Mary L. Hollis.

Survivors include her daughters, Pamela K. (Bruce) Gothard, and Sharon L. (Carl) Hutzel; grandchildren, Shelby Hughes, Nikki (Danny) Oiler, Jamie Gothard, and Whitney (Chris) Lanka; great-grandchildren, Kelsie (Hunter), Kylie, Lucas, Joshua, Finley, Effie, Hans, and Henry; great-great grandchildren, Cohen, Colson, Camden, Rai’Lee, and Legend; brother, Lowell (Joyce) Hollis; and her half-sister, Rebecca Banner. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
