Billy Ray Jones Obituary

BILLY RAY JONES, age 53, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at Court House Manor after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on July 16, 1971 in Washington CH to the late Clarence R. and Dianne P. (Gentry) Jones. He was a graduate of Washington High School. Billy worked for Halliday Lumber for most his life. He attended the Sugar Creek Baptist Church when his health would allow. He enjoyed being outside the most, mowing, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his first wife, Kimberly D. Jones; sister, Joni Brown; uncle, Bobby Gentry; niece, Carrie Bronson; and nephew, Josh Jones.

Survivors include his fiancé, Jamie Christin Bunch; siblings, Carolyn Judson, Pam Jones, David (Mel) Jones, Larry (Rhonda) Jones, and James Steven (Elizabeth) Brady; his second set of parents, Jim and Betsy Brady; special aunt, Bonnie Gentry; his son that he never had, Andrew McCullau; God-daughters Laci Mollett, and Ashley (Phillip, Jr.) Groves; God-grandchildren, Cameron (Kira) Groves, Anthony (Mikayla) Groves, Alex (Emma) Groves, and McKenna “Kenna Bug” Groves; great God-granddaughter, Ivy Groves; special niece, Bacardi Jones; and special friends, Joey George, Shane Hunt, Mike Moore, and John Lyons. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Henry officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will follow.
