Bugs Ramsey

BUGS RAMSEY, age 73, of Washington Court House, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Adena Fayette Medical Center. His death was sudden and unexpected. He was born on October 19, 1950, in London, Ohio and was the son of the late Daniel Fred and Margaret Jean Lindsey Ramsey Wilson. On May 14, 1970, he married the former Melodi Haines, who survives.

Bugs was a 1968 graduate of Chillicothe High School and had formerly worked at the Cudahy Packing Company and Pennington Bread in Washington C.H. and retired from the Mike Sells Potato Chip Company after thirty-two years of service as a Route Salesman.

He was a devoted member of the Staunton United Methodist Church.

In prior years, he enjoyed and loved fishing, four wheeling and trail riding with friends, watching old westerns and was an avid Bengals fan. Bugs dearly loved his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Along with his loving wife of fifty-four years, Bugs is survived by his son, Scott (Beth) Ramsey; his grandson, Mason (Bailey) Smith; his sisters, Deanna Ramsey and Kellie (Mark) Michael; his sister in-law, Judy (Tom) Rambo along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

In addition to his parents, Bugs is preceded in death by his grandson, Hayden Chance Ramsey; his siblings, Dan Ramsey, Bill Ramsey, Cyndi Shay and Rick Ramsey; and his brother-in-law, Jimmy Haines.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, in the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Armstrong officiating with burial to follow in the Cochran Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday, August 16 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in memory of Bugs be made to:  Staunton United Methodist Church, in care of, Kathryn Smith, 2206 Staunton-Sugar Grove Road SW, Washington C.H., Ohio 43160.
