CLAYTON QUESINBERRY, age 85, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 6:13 a.m. at Four Seasons of Washington with his wife and three daughters by his side.
He was born on July 15, 1935 in Rowan County, Kentucky to Lee and Louise (Barker) Quesinberry. Clayton and his wife, Frances moved to Washington CH from Springfield, Ohio in 1967. He retired as a truck driver from Landmark. Clayton was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and watching Pastor Joel Osteen on Sunday mornings.
Clayton was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Melissa Scott; and siblings, Hillard Quesinberry, Millard Quesinberry, Rosie Wise, Lizzy Law, Virginia Curtis, and Ernie Roach.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Marie (Skelton) Quesinberry, whom he married on June 14, 1956; children, Debbie (Greg) Scott, Denise (Craig) Pontius, and Darlene (Tony) Merritt; grandchildren, Kristina (Jeremy) Bethel, Ryan (Lori) Pontius, Tracy (Nick) Rieke, Courtney Merritt and her fiancé, Jordan Baird, and Tori Merritt and her fiancé, Jared Davis; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, James, Hayden, Cole, and Iris; stepbrother, Chenault Brown; and his faithful canine companion, Minnie. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear and special friends.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
