DAVID JOSEPH EGGLETON, age 67, of Washington Court House, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born on February 6, 1956, in South Charleston, West Virginia to the late Charles and Ruth Jane Moore.
David was a 1974 graduate of Miami Trace High School and retired from Kenworth in Chillicothe. Previously, David had worked in maintenance at Calmar in Washington C.H. Out of retirement, David had recently started working as the transportation driver at Signature Health Care of Fayette County. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 423 and Masonic Lodge 107. David was a “die hard” Ohio State Buckeyes Fan, often holding on to his “lucky” buckeye and dressed in OSU gear for every game. He was a huge supporter of the Miami Trace Football team, and he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, traveling, enjoying life and spending time on their family’s cattle farm.
Survivors include his loving wife of many, many years, Brenda; his children, Teria (Frank) Lynch, Shawn David (Catrina) Eggleton, Tammy (Mark) Miller, Kelly (Allan) Brown and Tim (Crystal) Soulier; his grandchildren, Elisha, Baileigh, Ashley, Jessica, Makennah, Austin, Piper, Mekhi, Calum, Xavier and Aiden. Also surviving is his father in-law, Bobbie Newsome; his siblings, Larry (Susan) Eggleton, Terry (Diana) Eggleton, Rita and (Buck) Caulley; sister in-law, Cindy (Tracy) Franks and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, Davis is preceded in death by his mother in-law, Juanita Newsome.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at the South Side Church of Christ with Pastor Todd Mauer officiating with burial to follow at the Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the Church on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
David chose to give others the gift of life by becoming an eye and tissue donor. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Lifeline of Ohio for this opportunity along with the care and support they were given.
