Dennis Eugene Clay Obituary

DENNIS EUGENE CLAY, age 66, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday morning, January 22, 2025 at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.

He was born on April 16, 1958 in Washington CH to Norman E. and Dorothy I. (Baker) Clay. He was a 1976 graduate of Washington High School.

Dennis had worked for Greenline/JD Equipment and was self-employed for twenty plus years with Clay Mowing Service. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons of the 32nd degree at the New Holland Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed muscle cars, music, spending time with his family and granddaughter, and was an avid sports fan.

Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Clay, sister, Debbie Morrow, and father-in-law, Bill Dugan.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Kathy Ann (Dugan) Clay, whom he married on February 6, 1982; his daughter, Sarah Clay and her fiancé, Eric Newcomer; granddaughter, Carleigh Newcomer; his father, Norman (Terry) Clay; stepsister, Cindy Isaacs; half-brother, Brian (Stephanie) Clay; sisters-in-law, Kim (Kelly) Richardson, and Kari Melvin; brother-in-law, Mike Dugan; and mother-in-law, Peggy Dugan. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

In memory of Dennis, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Summers Funeral Home from 1-4:00 p.m.
