Diana Elaine Ackley

DIANA ELAINE ACKLEY, age 71, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024 at the Adena Fayette Medical Center.

She was born on March 25, 1953 in Highland County, Ohio to the late Erle F. “Red” and Nellie (Davidson) Brackett. She was a graduate of Fairfield High School and Ohio University. Diana was a retired teacher who touched the lives of many children during her career at New Vienna Elementary and Sabina Elementary.

In addition to her parents, Diana was preceded in death by infant brother, James Benjamin, brother, Erle F. “Butch” Brackett Jr., and half sisters, Jean Debolt and Norma Baur.

Survivors include her two sons, Ben (Carrie) Ackley and Kyle Ackley; brother, Thomas (Nancy) Brackett; two grandchildren, Keionnie and Ryan, and their mother Brittany (Matt) Haynes; longtime, devoted friends Gina (Richard) Gardner and Pam (Bill) Earley. Survivors also include several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Diana was a memorable presence at sporting events, donated to numerous charities, and loved animals. Her cat, Nicholas “Nicky,” was her constant companion and she loved to share memories of her pets, Stinky, Fred, Victor, and Spike.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the Sugar Creek Baptist Church (3263 US Highway 35 NW, Washington CH, OH 43160) with Pastor Mike Henry officiating. Family and friends may visit at the Church on Wednesday evening from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
