DONALD RAY WILLIAMSON, age 87, of Washington Court House, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Adena Fayette. He was born on April 15, 1936, in Fayette County and was the son of the late Harry and Etta Williamson.
Donald retired from Schneider Transportation after more than twenty-eight years as an over the road truck driver. After his retirement, he worked twelve more years as a transportation driver for Fayette County Community Action. He enjoyed taking his Mickey Mouse truck to car shows with his wife, Donna Jean and won several trophies and awards over the years. In 2015 he became a member of Heritage Church. Donald volunteered many hours at the Rose Avenue food pantry and enjoyed his Thursday morning men’s breakfast meetings at Our Place restaurant.
Survivors include, his children, Steve Williamson, Gary (Faye) Williamson, Shelly (Sam Harris) Williamson, Jeff (Diane) Williamson and Donnie Williamson; his grandchildren, Erica (William) Randolph, Michael Williamson, Katie (Josh) Schleappi, Sean (Suzi) Williamson and Alex (Destiny McCloskey) Williamson; and his great-grandchildren, Austin Randolph and Silas Williamson. Also surviving is his brother, Ronald (Eva) Williamson along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
In addition, to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his loving wife, the former Donna Jean Winegar; his brother, Calvin Williamson and his sisters, Gloria Morris, Mary Petitt and Norma Null.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Heritage Church with Pastor Justin Siler officiating, burial to follow in the Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Thursday, the day before the service.
