EDWARD JUAN “BUTCH” STEWARD, Jr., age 62, of Washington CH, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 5:04 a.m. at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on December 31, 1957 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Edward Juan “Eddie” and Alberta Elizabeth (Crosswhite) Steward. He was a 1977 graduate of Washington High School. Butch retired from TFO in Jeffersonville after sixteen years of service. He was a member at the First Church of God on Harrison Street. He enjoyed drawing, playing video games, loved music, riding motorcycles, and being with his family.
Butch was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Steward; and grandparents, James and Juanita Steward, and Herbert and Pauline Crosswhite.
Survivors include his mother whom he adored, Alberta Steward; his significant other, Barbara Gilpen; children, Celina Kelley, Lajuana Kelley, Christina Kelley, Brittanie Kelley, Jasmine Kelley, and Juan Steward-Carrion; several grandchildren; and siblings, Douglas Keith Steward of Washington DC, Dianna (David) Alsop of Washington CH, Bryan Scott Steward of California, and Christopher Jason Steward of Arizona. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear and special friends.
Services will be private in keeping with the wishes of the family to properly comply with Covid-19 guidelines. Family and friends are welcome to attend the burial at Washington Cemetery on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 1:30 p.m.
