FRANCES MARIE “FRANNY” SOKOLA, age 88, of Washington CH, joined her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. While we could fill endless pages with the countless lives Fran touched, the fond memories of her family and friends, or the special moments shared between a husband and wife after 61 years of marriage, both in sickness and in health, we will try to summarize the incredible life of Frances Marie as this: she was born on July 21, 1933 to Edgar and Bernice Everhart in Greenfield, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents and loving siblings. She is survived by her sweetheart and husband, Reverend Steve Patrick, her daughter Sharon (Reverend Tim) Huffman, granddaughters Emily Lash, Bethany (Andrew) Sisinger and great-grandchildren Landen, Addyson, Alivia and Jacob. Franny spent many years as the head cook at Sabina Elementary School, where she was able to combine her love of people and cooking for them. On most days after school lunch was served, Franny could be found in the classrooms, reading stories to the children she was so fond of. After retiring from the school, Franny went to work as a medical assistant in a doctor’s office, providing care and comfort to all she interacted with. On most weekends, Fran could be found with her husband, her sister and best friend for life, Mary Geneva, daughter Sharon, and young granddaughters at the local nursing home, singing hymns and offering a kind word, prayers, and encouragement to anyone who would listen. Fran also spent most of her adult life as a pastor’s wife, serving several churches in the local community. Franny loved many things: Jesus, her family, her brothers and sisters in Christ, cooking, baking, and summer flowers. Fran entertained many friends and guests over the years, always supplying fresh baked breads, homemade pies and her family’s favorite, homemade chocolate chip cookies. When you met her, you were never a stranger for long. Fran has made countless friends during her life, and all would agree they are better for her friendship. As we grieve her loss, we also celebrate her life, a life well lived, “blessed” in her own words, full of joy, love, gratitude and peace; knowing she is reunited with her Maker. “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is He, who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His court with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.” Psalm 100: 1-5.
The graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Washington Cemetery with Reverend Gary Huffman officiating.
