Garry L. Shaw

GARRY L. SHAW, age 75, of Washington CH, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 6:48 p.m. at his home while surrounded by his family and close friends.

He was born on October 26, 1946 in Fayette County to Charles and Hazel (Zimmerman) Shaw. Garry retired from Halliday Lumber. He enjoyed sitting on his porch, walking his dogs, and horseracing.

Garry was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Charles Richard “Chuck” Shaw, Wayne Edwin Shaw, and Diana Sue (Shaw) Souders.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Carol Ann (Reveal) Shaw, whom he married on July 17, 1978; daughters, Janette Shaw, Erica (Lonnie) Brittain, and Cheri Shaw; step-daughter, Melissa Spahr Willis and her significant other, Tom Mahoney; sons, Tracy (Stephanie) Shaw, and Danny Shaw; brother, John (Karolyn) Shaw; and sisters-in-law, Beverly Shaw, and Linda Shaw. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
