George Edgar Conaway

GEORGE EDGAR CONAWAY, age 81, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.

He was born on July 4, 1944 in Fayette County to the late Homer Earl and Ethel Faye (Davis) Conaway. He was a graduate of Greenfield McClain High School. George retired from the Overnite Trucking Corporation where he worked as a truck driver for twenty-two years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and he loved a good scratch off ticket!

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Phyllis Jean (Conrad) Conaway, whom he married on January 15, 1964; sister, Shirley Souther; and sister-in-law, Henrietta Conaway.

Survivors include his son, George Jr. (Stacy) Conaway; grandchildren, Alexis Conaway, and Ashley Conaway; great-grandchildren, Luxie, Kane, Brilynn, Stryker, and Kooper; brother, Kenneth Conaway; and sister-in-law, Mary Wheaton. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, along with a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Browns Chapel Cemetery in Clarksburg, Ohio. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
