GEORGE FUNARI, JR., age 75, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at his home.
He was born on July 21, 1948 in Trenton, New Jersey to the late George, Sr. and Ida (Eresia) Funari. George was a 1967 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Levittown, Pennsylvania. After graduating, George proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. George retired in 2011 from the SPX Corporation where he worked as a senior account manager. He was a faithful member at Grace Community Church. His pride and joy in life were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; he also enjoyed woodworking, tinkering with cars, and riding his Harley Davidson.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Genifer Lynn Funari.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Dawn Mary (Davis) Funari, whom he married on March 15, 1971; his sons, Chris (Dee) Funari, and Jeff (Jessica) Funari; grandchildren, Nicholas (Makayla) Funari, Alexandra Funari, and Emma Funari; great-grandchildren, twin boys, Luke George and Lennox Jack Funari; and his sister, Lenora Funari. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and host of dear and special friends.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Grace Community Church, 525 Glenn Ave., Washington CH, 43160, with Pastor Paul Crichton officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the Church on Tuesday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
