Georgia Caroline Bowers

GEORGIA CAROLINE BOWERS, age 96, of Butler Township, formerly of Washington CH, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at 9:42 p.m. at the Randall Residence of Tipp City.

She was born on September 4, 1925 in Mount Sterling, Ohio to George and Ada (Penn) Beedy. Georgia had worked as a cashier at various grocery stores throughout the years. She had been a faithful member at the South Side Church of Christ while living in Fayette County. She always enjoyed babysitting and visiting with her beloved family and friends.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Thomas Joseph “Tom” Bowers who passed less than six months prior to her; and daughters, Sharon F. Cowans and Muriel Jane Daughtrey.

Survivors include her children, Gail (Mike) Powers and Beth (Stuart) Schaefer; step-children, Mark (Corinna) Bowers and Theresa (Dan) Crawford; grandchildren, Steve (Terry) Cowans, Keith Cowans, Jeff (Marsha) Cowans, Scott Birchfield, Aaron (Stacy) Powers, Bryan (Liz) Powers, Erica Schaefer, and David (Amber) Schaefer; step-grandchildren, Faith (Christopher) Johnson, Hannah (Nathan) Hoch, and Olivia (Aaron) Shafer; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Alice Butcher. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear and special friends.

The funeral service will be he held on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Bloomingburg Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
