Herman "Butch" Williamson Obituary

Herman Lee “Butch” Williamson, age 83, of Washington Court House, passed away at 1:46 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at his home. He was born on September 6, 1939 in Fayette County and was the son the of the late Herbert and Virginia Clay Williamson. On February 1, 1963 he married his loving wife of sixty years the former Betty Williams, who survives.

After serving in the United States Marine Corps, Butch worked as an electrical contractor and owned and operated Williamson and Sons Electric for over sixty years. Butch enjoyed all things trains and had quite the collection of model trains at his home. He was a member of the Railroad Preservation Society and had worked to help restore the old train that sits locally in Eyman Park. Butch also enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandkids in his spare time.

In addition to his wife Betty, survivors include his children, Todd (Denise) Williamson and Butch Williamson (Beth Williamson of Arizona) both of Washington Court House; his grandchildren, Tiffany (Josh Roberts) Williamson, Kaine (Cassy) Williamson, Lenza (Tank Haggard) Williamson, Evan Williamson and Keely Creamer and his great-grandchildren, Trevon and Jaxson Roberts. Butch is also survived by his brothers, Danny (Joyce) Williamson of Clearwater, FL and Bob (Janie) Williamson of Washington C.H.; his sisters, Joan (Jerry) Fisher of Lutz, FL, Patti Cox and her friend Carl Kellenberger and Sharon Baird of Columbus and special grand-dog, Rogan.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Troy Huston Williamson; his brother, Harold Edward Williamson and his father and mother in- law, James and Carrie Williams.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the Summers Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Honorary pallbearers for the service will include his great-grandchildren, Trevon and Jaxson Roberts. In keeping with Butch’s wishes, cremation will take place following the service and burial will be held in the Washington Cemetery at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Summers Funeral Home.
