Hershel Venable Obituary

HERSHEL VENABLE, age 77, of Washington CH, formerly of Daytona Beach, Florida, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 2:18 p.m. at his home.

He was born on May 9, 1943 in Jackson County, Kentucky to Delbert and Helen Baker Venable. Hershel was employed for eighteen years with the former H.H. Robertson Welding Company in Connersville, Indiana. He was a proud member of the Daytona Beach Lodge No. 270 Free and Accepted Masons of Florida. Hershel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and son. He enjoyed playing golf, being on his boat, drinking a beer, and he loved making people laugh.

Hershel was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved grandson, Aaron Hershel Cross; and sister, Barbara (Delbert) MacIntosh.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Elaine Robinson Venable, whom he married on September 13, 1963; children, Eugene “Butch” (Tommi) Venable, Geraldine “Geri” Stevens, and Angela Barbee (Daddy’s Little Squirt); grandchildren, Andrew Brown, Michelle (Ben) Mohney, Latisha Guthrie, Brittany Stevens, and Kayla Cross; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Billy (Cathy) Venable.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
