JACK LEE JUNK, age 74, of Washington CH, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 7:59 p.m. at Mount Carmel East.
He was born on June 9, 1944 in Ross County to Ralph “Buck” and Jean Taylor Junk. He was a 1964 graduate of Clarksburg High School. Jack proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. He retired from the Showa Aluminum Corporation in Mount Sterling. Jack had attended the Heritage Memorial Church. He enjoyed collecting International Harvester toy tractors and being with his family and grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Larry Junk, and Rachel Anne Freshour; nephew, Joshua Lee DeLong; and sister-in-law, Mary Kay Randolph.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Marsha Lynn McConkey Junk, whom he married on January 18, 1969; children, Kristi (Bret) Fox, and Kimberly (Michael) Gilmore; grandchildren, Christopher Fox, Cate Fox, Caylee Fox, Makayla Gilmore and her fiancé, Nick Funari, Matthew Gilmore, Madison Gilmore, and Maggie Gilmore; great-granddaughter, Harper Rose; siblings, Kathy (Nick) Dewey, Mary Jo Nolan, Paul (Debbie) Robinett, Reva Jean Clifford, Steven Mark Taylor, Kenneth Carl Taylor, Cindy Francis, and Joe Junk; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gale (Tina) McConkey, Dave (Joyce) McConkey, Cathy McConkey, and Thomas “Junior” Randolph; and his faithful canine companion, Jack. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Church, 1867 US Highway 35 NW, Washington CH, OH 43160, with Rev. Joe Duvall and Pastor Bruce Morrison officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will follow and burial will take place at the Frankfort Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
