JACK E. SMALLWOOD, age 94, of Washington CH, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Four Seasons of Washington.
He was born on February 21, 1928 in Circleville, Ohio to the late Milton and Mildred (Reeser) Smallwood. He was a longtime member and usher at the First Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and loved training and driving standardbred horses. Jack was a member of the United States Trotter’s Association and the Ohio Harness Horseman’s Association.
Jack proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict and was also a member of the Fayette County Honor Guard for ten years and a Commander for one year.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise (Mogan) Smallwood; son, Jack E. Smallwood, Jr.; wife, Lucille (Smith) Smallwood; and sister; Ruth (Smallwood) Underwood.
Survivors include his children, Steven (Lee) Smallwood and Sharon Hartley; and his grandchildren, Jeff Smallwood, Kyle Smallwood, Chad Hartley and Ryan Hartley. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Washington Cemetery with Pastor Joe Current officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Honor Guard of Fayette County. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
