JAMES L. “JIM” HAINES, age 63, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville. His death was sudden and unexpected.
He was born on June 21, 1959 in Clinton County to the late Billy Loren Haines and Barbara Jean (Clickner) Haines. He was a 1977 graduate of Washington High School. Jim had worked at the London Correctional Institution as a Corrections Officer for many years; he also worked at R&L Trucking. He enjoyed harness racing, the game of golf and was an avid sports fan.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his great-nephew, Hayden Chance Ramsey.
Survivors include his sisters, Judy (Tom) Rambo and Melodi (Bugs) Ramsey; nephews, Chris Rambo and his girlfriend, DeAnn Helfrich, and Scott (Beth) Ramsey; niece, Lisa (Nathan) Robinette; great-nieces and nephews, Morgan (Chas) Wilson-Grover, Jazzy Robinette and her boyfriend, Ethan Kingery, Javin, Trey and Luke Robinette, and Mason Smith; and great-great nephews, Rowan Wilson-Grover and Cooper Kingery along with many friends. His love of life, family, storytelling and his sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Armstrong officiating with burial to follow at the Cochran Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
