JAMES EVERETT “JIM” TURPIN, age 64, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 7:25 p.m. at Court House Manor.
He was born on May 14, 1956 in Montgomery County to the late Ralph and Marette (Barnett) Turpin. He was a graduate of Miami Trace High School. Jim was a cast member in Tecumseh, the outdoor drama in Chillicothe during the late 1970s. He was last employed at Uline-Paper and Plastic Bags out of Wilmington. Jim was a loving and devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend. He always enjoyed a good adventure such as being an actor, riding his motorcycle, and scuba diving.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Turpin; his biological mother, Marette Turpin; and brother, Michael “Skip” Turpin.
Survivors include the mother who raised him, Geneva Turpin Walton; siblings, Danny (Beverly) Turpin, Terry Turpin and his significant other, Denise Speakman, Vicki Lynn Turpin, Amy Jane Walton, Teresa Tobias, Kelly Baldwin, Lisa Walton, and David Walton; sister-in-law, Wanda Turpin; and special nephew, Stephen Hamby. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear and special friends.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home Pastor Don Young officiating with burial to follow at the Valley View Memorial Gardens in Xenia. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those in attendance must wear a mask or other facial covering and are asked to adhere to social-distancing guidelines.
