JANICE ANN LANE, age 82, of Washington CH, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at her home while surrounded by her loving family. She had been in failing health for the last two years.
She was born on October 24, 1940 in Fayette County to the late Donald Lee and Helen Louise (Brown) Kelley. She was a 1958 graduate of Washington High School and was a lifelong resident of this community.
Janice retired as office manager from Ohio Valley Family Physicians after 34 years of service where she worked alongside several great physicians including Dr. Ralph Gebhart, MD, Dr. Robert A. Heiny, MD, Dr. Dennis Mesker, MD, and Dr. Gregory Schall, DO.
She was a faithful member at the Heritage Memorial Church of Christ in Christian Union where she had served in many roles such as youth leader, head of nursery department, 4th grade Sunday School teacher, and also taught the toddler class. She spent 50 plus years serving her Lord and Savior. She had her priorities in order of God, family, church, and friends. Janice was all about serving others and teaching children the Love of Jesus Christ.
Janice had played intramural basketball in high school. She was a member of the Bar W Riding Club. She enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes and her family show horses.
In addition to her parents, Janice is preceded in death by a brother at birth, Donald Lee Kelley.
Survivors include her husband, Larry L. Lane, whom she married on July 30, 1960; daughter, Kelley Jo Casto; and granddaughter, Ashley Lane Casto all of Washington CH. Also surviving are several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Heritage Church with burial to follow at the Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the church on Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
