Jeffrey Ray Miller Obituary

JEFFREY RAY MILLER, age 64, of Washington CH, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025 at the Adena Fayette Medical Center. His death was sudden and unexpected.

He was born on June 13, 1960 in Fayette County to the late Raymond Leslie and Virginia Charlotte (Walters) Miller. He was a 1978 graduate of Washington High School and attended Laurel Oaks Vocational School where he studied to be a firefighter. Jeffrey proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. After receiving an honorable discharge, he returned to civilian life and was the assistant chief and lieutenant firefighter for Scioto Township Fire Department in Ross County. He faithfully attended The Gathering Place Church. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and friends, and was an avid sports fan.

In addition to his parents, Jeffrey was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jeffrey Ray Miller, II.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Barbara Lynn (Darling) Miller, whom he married in November of 2010; his children, Jamie (Josh Jones) Miller, Michelle (Brad) Scarberry, Kimberly (Mike) Miller, Kyle Matthew Miller, Angel (Pat) Brown, and Matthew (Della) Loyd; twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and grand dog, Bonnie. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor John Pfeifer officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
