Obituary

JIM D. MACE, age 90, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 1:35 a.m. at Adena Fayette Medical Center.

He was born on February 23, 1933 in Pickaway County, Ohio to the late Arthur and Grace (Lovensheimer) Mace. He was a 1950 graduate of Jackson Township in Pickaway County. Jim proudly served his country in the US Army. He spent many years training and driving Standard bred horses throughout Ohio and the east coast; he also owned and operated M&M Turf Supply in Washington CH and Scioto Downs. He enjoyed fishing, raising and breeding horses, and harness racing.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his grandson, Miles Mace; and also two sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Joan Lee (List) Mace, whom he married on January 9, 1960; his sons, Doug (Beth) Mace, and Steve (Shane Summers) Mace; grandchildren, Morgan (Devon) Monroe, Mariah (Kayden) Roberts, and Phoenix Gregory; great-grandchildren, Oaklee and Ayla Monroe; and extended family, David Rutherford and Tracey Carter. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

In keeping with Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at The Rusty Keg Crown Room on Monday, April 24, 2023 from 4-7:00 p.m.
