Jimmy McCallister

JIMMY MCCALLISTER, age 67, of Leesburg, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023. His death was sudden and unexpected.

He was born on April 12, 1956 in Franklin County to the late Oval F. and Viola M. (Culp) McCallister. Jimmy attended Miami Trace High School and later obtained his GED. He was a truck driver by trade and had also worked at Johnson Controls in Greenfield. Jimmy grew up attending the Apostolic Christian Church on Hickory Lane. He enjoyed playing guitar, riding his motorcycle, restoring antique cars, and working out.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth McCallister; and uncle, Boyd McCallister.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Rose (Cockerill) McCallister, whom he married on May 20, 1995; his children, Melissa (Brian) Taylor, Tyler McCallister, and Luke Jackson; grandchildren, Ryan (Kelsey) Taylor and Elizabeth (Justin) White; great-grandchildren, Maximillian White, Brynley Taylor, and Grayson Jackson; siblings, Norma (Jack) Shockley, Shirley (Kenneth) Sharon, Paul Wesley, and Debra Sue (Rick) Lucas; and his aunt, Bobbi McCallister. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor John Pfeifer officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
